Adverbial clauses have the same functions as adverbs and express a range of adverbial meanings, such as time, manner, cause, purpose, result, condition, and concession. They are introduced by subordinating conjunctions or phrases according to their meaning.

Xρονικές προτάσεις (Temporal clauses)
Temporal clauses denote an action which either occured previously to, simultaneously with, or after the action of the main clause. They can precede or follow the main clause, depending on the emphasis the speaker wants to give. Temporal clauses are usually introduced by either a simple conjunction (όταν, πριν, καθώς…) or a temporal phrase (τώρα που, (από) τότε που, την ώρα που…)
Ενώ ο Tεό κοιμάται, η Αγκάθα μαγειρεύει.
