The origin of the word enthusiasm

The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek word “entheos”ένθεος which means the God within. And the happiest, most interesting people are those who have found the secret of maintaining their enthusiasm, that God within.

The word enthusiasm indicates intense excitement. The noun enthusiasm comes from the Greek word enthousiasmos, from enthous, meaning “possessed by a god, inspired.” It was originally used in a derogatory sense to describe excessive religious zeal.
