Simple Present (verb : to be)

(εγώ) είμαι                                                Ι am

(εσύ) είσαι                                             you are

(αυτός/ αυτή/αυτό) είναι                   he/she/ it is

(εμείς) είμαστε                                        we are

(εσείς) είσαστε/ είστε                             you are

(αυτοί/αυτές/αυτά) είναι                       they are

Adverbs we use with Simple Present (remember there is no Present Continuous in Greek, we use Simple Present instead.)

πάντα= always,  συχνά= often,  μερικές φορές= sometimes, τώρα=now, σπάνια= rarely, σχεδόν ποτέ=hardly ever, προς το παρόν=at the moment, αυτές τις μέρες=these days, σήμερα=today.

Examples: Σήμερα είμαι κουρασμένος. Today I’m tired.

Προς το παρόν, δουλεύω σε σχολείο. At the moment I work in a school.
